Solar Heat

Feeding into Local Heating Networks

Solar heat is fed into the buffer storage via heat exchangers. Holzgerlingen has three buffers for the temporary storage of solar heat, buffer one is also used by the wood pellet stove. The water for the heating is fed into buffer three where it is pre-heated by solar heat. It is heated further by the wood pellet stove and pumped into the local heating network immediately afterwards.

Special attention should be paid to keeping a low reflow temperature. This is best achieved by choosing a fitting heat transfer station. In Holzgerlingen, we chose heat transfer stations that included potable water heating with continuous flow, where possible. The space heaters are connected to continuous flow systems, which again reduce the reflow temperature.
